The revamped Gender Analysis window.
This tool provides a way for writers to zoom out and see the big picture about the makeup of who they’re putting on the page, and who could wind up represented on screen.
Created in collaboration with screenwriter Christina Hodson, go to Tools > Gender Analysis to open this view.
You’ll see a list of all speaking roles in your script. You can assign a gender to each, or mark them as unspecified. Highland will give you breakdowns to review gender parity based on the number of characters, number of lines, and number of spoken words.
There’s also a Bechdel-test influenced measurement of how many scenes your screenplay has with two or more female characters interacting.
