What does it do?

/lookup gives you quick answers right where you’re typing. Instead of switching to your web browser to check a fact — or find a good rhyme — you can stay focused on your work without distractions.

It’s not magic, but it’s extremely useful.

How do I use it?

On a blank line, type a / followed by what you’re looking for. Some examples:

/rhymes with cheese

/define ennui

/synonym for careful

/how many miles from Denver to Dallas

Everything in /lookup is colored gold so you can easily distinguish it.

What does /lookup look like in the Editor?

A /lookup query before hitting Enter to submit.

The query and answer, formatted to separate it from the rest of your document.

Can it write scenes for me?

No. /lookup provides quick answers, things you could Google or find on Wikipedia. It doesn’t know a damn thing about writing screenplays (or term papers).

We believe software should support the creative work of humans, not replace it.

While you can ask /lookup anything, some commands trigger specific tools or actions:
